Steins Thistle Club were formed in January, 1970 as the works team of G.R Stein brick works in Allandale near Bonnybridge.The brick works provided a pitch for the team and when the company folded ownership of the park was transferred to the football club,which the still retain to this day.In recent years the club as built a new pavillion and spent alot of money on the park and training facillaties giving Steins Thistle one of the best set ups in Amateur Fooball also providing for the hole club from under 9s up to the 21s.
Steins Thistle Amateurs Play in the Fosters Central League.Managed by Richard Fox,Coaches are David George,Grant Ingles,Goalkeeping Coach Wullie Dunsmore,Kit man and Physio Beastie,Committee Welshy Chipper and Andy Sharp.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
