Steins went out of the West of Scotland Cup in a fiercly contested battle against East Kilbride. The boys started brightly with Ross Fox having great sucess down the left flank putting inviting balls into the pentaly area and all that was lacking was composure infront of goal. McVicker went close around the 20 minute mark with a first time effort that zinged past the keepers top left hand post missing by mere inhes. East Kilbride to the leade around the half hour with a deflected 20 yard effort that Lavery could only get the slightest of finger tips too.
The second half was not as convincing as the first for Steins as they reverted to a long ball tactic and could not seem to find an opening. As the game wore on and Steins pushed for a winner frailties in the defence began to show! McVicker go the ball into the net about 60 minutes in with a sublime volley into the top corner only for the ref to blow cruely for offside! However Steins Pulled level from a corner that the Keeper failed to collect leaving Gary Wright with a tap in on the line. With 2 minutes to go Steins Shambolic defending was finally there downfall when a poor clearence by williamson was pounced on by the east kilbride attack a neat ball was slipped between the defence who appealed for offside to no avail as the ball was dispatched cooly into the net!
